1. Who We Are
BetterTrade ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application (Android / iOS) that helps retail traders journal, analyse, and improve their trading performance. The application is operated by its individual developer and published on the Google Play Store.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name (either provided directly or retrieved from your Google account when you sign in with Google). We do not collect your real name, phone number, or payment information.
2.2 Trade journal data
All trade records you create — symbol, date, direction, entry/exit prices, size, P&L, notes, screenshots — are stored in your personal Cloud Firestore document tree and are readable only by you (enforced by Firestore Security Rules).
2.3 Usage analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how features are used in aggregate. Analytics events contain no personally identifiable information. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy.
2.4 Crash reports
Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) collects anonymous crash diagnostics — stack traces, device model, OS version — to help us fix bugs. No trade data or personal details are included in crash reports.
2.5 Device information
We may read basic device metadata (OS version, device model) via the
device_info_plus package for display in the app and for support purposes. This information
is never transmitted to our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Authenticate you and maintain your session.
- Store and synchronise your trade journal across devices.
- Calculate analytics and performance metrics displayed within the app.
- Diagnose crashes and improve app stability.
- Respond to support requests you submit via the Contact Us form.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the us-central1 region.
Access is protected by Firebase Authentication tokens and Firestore Security Rules that prevent any
user from reading another user's data. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.2+; data at rest is
encrypted by Google.
5. Data Retention
Your account and all associated trade records are retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and irreversible; all Firestore documents under your user ID are removed within 30 days.
6. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Storage) — Google Privacy Policy
- Google Sign-In — your Google account data is used only for authentication.
We have no other data processors. We do not integrate any advertising SDKs.
7. Children's Privacy
BetterTrade is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (EU/EEA users: your national DPA).

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. If the changes are material, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of BetterTrade after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
