Real Time Markets (RTM) provides users with two types of trading platforms. It allows traders to trade real capital and to paper trade for proficiency. Each module works similarly with the only difference being that there is no risk using the "Practice for Profits" module. The yellow background of the trading platform distinguishes from the practice module.
The myTrade service which allows users to trade real money is accessible from multiple places on the Real Time Markets system. Users can access the myTrade module from the system menu or can access it through the dashboard or options chain. Within the dashboard any or option change users can simply request that particular strategy through the myTrade function.
MyTrade is the name for the trade execution module. In addition to letting users prepare and execute trades, the myTrade function also provides users with direct access to account information. It provides all transaction information as well account information at a glance. Additional accounts can be quickly selected and reviewed and current position values assessed. All stock and option values are quoted real time. Position values as well as realized and unrealized gains are calculated in real time giving users real time accounting for their current positions. Anywhere in the system account information can be accessed through a pop up window giving users on the fly information about their accounts and current trading positions.
The following are functions are available through myTrade:
Open Account: Allows the user to open new trading accounts.
Back Office: User can request statements and other reports by mail or by email
Cash Management: This function allows users to see their non-invested funds and request cash distributions from their trading account. Cash can also be transferred between accounts
Help: The help function provides specifics about RTM functions and links to additional information about using RTM.
The trading platform is designed for both the beginner and experienced trader alike. Option chains are available at the click of a mouse. Options and stocks can be automatically populated in the trading screen by selecting the security in the option chain or stock selector. Advanced option strategies such as credit spreads, covered calls, protective puts have their own trading screen to facilitate trade execution.
