Freddie Rick's Philanthropy

Giving to worthy causes is important to BetterTrades founder Freddie Rick, who is a generous giver to many charities. Freddie Rick believes in passing along some the money he's been blessed with to help others in need. Much of his giving is directed toward faith-based organizations, groups who have an evangelical Christian perspective.

"Paying it forward really resonates with what I want others to see in me now, versus that person I was in the past," Freddie Rick said. "I want a person to see someone that has a good heart and that his actions speak louder than words."

Freddie and Mitzi Rick especially want to help benefit the spiritual and physical welfare of people in other parts of the world. Their philanthropic efforts are especially directed toward the Joyce Meyer Ministries and the Haggai Institute.

Joyce Meyer is one of the top Bible teachers in the world. She can often been found on television, but doesn't consider herself to be a televangelist. Her message is one of practical Christianity, which has been heard by millions of people around the world.

"She is no doubt, in our opinion, one of the greatest teachers in practical living that ever existed," Freddie Rick says. "Her teachings have helped Mitzi and myself tremendously."

Joyce Meyer Ministries claims as a mission statement the desire "to impact the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ." Her goal is to help people who are in need in all areas of the globe on a daily basis. Her ministry accomplishes this through conferences, printed material, as well as television and radio broadcasts.

The Ricks are also proud sponsors of the Haggai Institute, an organization devoted to worldwide Christian evangelism. The Haggai Institute accomplishes this by training Christian leaders from non-Western countries how to return home and spread the Gospel. Leaders receive material and learn methods from the headquarters in Singapore, then take it back to their own country and culture.

The goal for the Haggai Institute is to have each trained leader return to their homeland and train 100 additional countrymen. This will allow the message to saturate the countryside. That's why the motto of the charity is "start from within and begin at the top."

"We also enjoy contributing to local people who have had the opportunity to travel to India to minister to many people in that area of the world," Freddie Rick said.
