The Wii is tearing up the videogame console market and making Nintendo shares look mighty attractive.

We remember the days of Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt fondly. Microsoft? Not so much. The Nintendo Wii is kicking the stuffing out of Microsoft's Xbox platform (And Sony's Playstation) so far and the BetterTrades team believes Nintendo's shares will outperform its competitors over the next year.

Targeting casual gamers, Nintendo's Wii has leaped the forefront of the console wars with titles like Wii Play, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, and Super Smash Bros. The battle isn't over for Microsoft and Sony, but Nintendo has a healthy head start.

Clearly, Microsoft's venture into the video game console market has not gone as planned. Despite their innovative console and rash of ultra popular game titles, the software giant has incurred huge losses on its Xbox series. And neither Sony nor Microsoft anticipated the massive resurgence of Nintendo and its reemergence as the dominant player in the video game market.

2009 will be a huge year for the console market as Sony expands its title universe and Microsoft looks to put hardware issues to rest that had plagued the Xbox system. Meanwhile, Nintendo just keeps chugging.
