More Than Just Better Trading

Living a productive and happy life is more than simply better trading. A person needs to be a well-rounded individual, one who is content in multiple areas of life. Individuals need to have a healthy home life, a competitive business life, and outside interests that can help relieve stress and provide an antidote to the burdens of everyday life.

A person who seeks to make a better trade in regard to their life will usually want to spend more time with their family. Perhaps they seek a way to spend more time with their children, whether that's helping them get ready for school or working as a coach for their softball or baseball team. Perhaps they're looking to better their relationship with their spouse, trading time at the office for more personal time; maybe it's as simple as scheduling a weekly date. Some people may have elderly or ill parents and crave to spend as much as time as possible with them.

Americans are often stressed out about their work. Too often they are required to put in too many long hours each day at the office. Sometimes this is due to the lack of delegation; these people aren't willing to make the better trade of passing the baton to another capable person often because of insecurity. Some individuals believe that a job won't get done unless they personally do it. People like this often identify themselves through their job description instead of their true worth as a person, not a better trade.

Hobbies and outside interests are important to creating a well-rounded individual, not one who is solely focused on better trading. There's nothing wrong with having fun; everyone has their own individual prescription for it. It can be going to a sporting event, going camping for the weekend, fishing for bass, traveling to new destinations. It can be helping other people through charity work or being involved in church-related activities. The important thing is to drop some of the daily stresses and focus on what's important. That's a better trade in anyone's book.
